Genomics in the Bioeconomy of Alberta

Background: Genome Alberta  has been invited by the Alberta Life Sciences Institute to submit a Business Case that outlines how Alberta can take advantage of the opportunities that genomics can provide to enhance a BioBased Economy. This would include areas such as feedstock optimization, processing technologies as it relates to biomass conversion, creation of higher value bioproducts from high-volume, low-value biomass and plant based production of high value-added bioproducts such as designer proteins, pharmaceuticals, oils, starches, fiber and metabolites.

We are currently inviting key individuals in the scientific and stakeholder communities to assist Genome Alberta in this process.

Participation: Participation in this event is through invitation.
